TEXT ON TRAIN – Adam Kraft & E.B. Itso

The duo Adam Kraft, aka ADAMS (SE), and E.B. Itso (DK) once built a hidden house inside Copenhagen Central Station and managed to keep its existence concealed. When construction work on the station began in 2007, workers discovered their secret project by coincidence, and it soon became public through local newspapers and a TV show where the stations chief inspector Per Buur gave an interview about the hidden house and his thoughts. Exactly one year after that ADAMS and E.B. Itso made a public announcement on parked regional trains near the Central station. Vinyl text is attached on twelve of the cars; one train set in Engllsh and one in Danish.

TEXT ON TRAIN is a handmade cardboard folder that shows the English cars on six hand pulled screen prints. All of them are in a indigo blue on newspaper paper. As an add on you will get a sheet with the message in return from the railyard workers. This publication is very limited and we just got very few copies.

“For four years we kept a secret under the Central Station in Copenhagen – A little house next to Track 12. // It was a simple home. We each had a bed and a chair. A table, fridge, oven and stovetop. From the window we watched life on the street. // The house was discovered and demolished one year ago. During this past year we built another. A new home in a new place. // 11 m³ – One bunkbed, two chairs, a stove, a heater and a sink with a limited amount of running water. // A clandestine room for refuge, without rent and with different rules to play by – A secret shelter by the tracks. // Adams & Itso, February, 2008”

If you want to know about this shack and other adventurous projects, we highly recommend to read KEY NOTES ON THE UNRULY CITY by Adam Kraft.
