TRACES – Copenhagen

Thomas Karl-Johan Gunnarsson is a Stockholm based photographer who found TagsAndThrows in the 2010s, a social media channel solely focusing on tags and throw-ups. With his narrow thematic concept and the decision to show the illegal works exclusively in black and white photos he managed to reach a broad audience by constantly broadcasting international content from top notch writers.

TRACES Copenhagen is his third print publication and spotlights street activities in the Danish capital over a 20-year time span. Besides action shots the content is packed with the full spectrum of surfaces like trucks, doors, electric boxes, shutters, fences, etc. Since there is no chronological order the pages mimic a two decade stroll through the city while usual local suspects pass your way as well as international visitors.
