GHOSTS VOL. 1 – NYC RAILFAN PHOTOS / EARLY 1970s

27,00

GHOSTS is a little treasure. The zine consists of early 1970s New York subway station impressions and graffiti in these locations. Roger Gastman, one of the most important graffiti historians in the United States, compiled these shots by an anonymous railway fan who captured rare traces of the Big Apple’s namewriting origins.

Although a few trains are part of the content as well he/she did mostly focus on the subway stations and took photos of stairways, doors and walls inside the stations. These never before published photographs allow us to get authentic insight in the early days in New York and how iconic spots like the 149th St., 183rd St., or 204st St. stations really looked like back in the days.

The colour photographs show marker and spray can tags from COOL CARL 182, GARY336, KEVIN176, PHASE2, APACHE, TAKI183, TITO720, SUPER LOCO 175, CASE2, SLICK RICK, AMRL, ACE169, COKE223, CASINO143, SUPER KOOL 223, TABU, CAY161, UNCLE RICH, TURBO, PUG219, MOONIE170, PUGG170, STRUT, ARROW, LEE 163D, K-GEE9, LIONEL168, ALL JIVE 161, and many more.

We were able to get our hands on a major part of the 2nd print run of this hard to get zine! We recommend to add this to your collection before all copies are gone.
