WOMBAT was here.

WOMBAT is one of the most active writers in the streets of New York City from the recent years. Her elaborated tags are true eye-catchers and the choice of spots for her pieces e.g. rooftops within the city is as unique as her style of executing them. In summer of 2022 she visited Berlin, traceable from several marks which suddenly appeared all around town.

Even in a graffiti overcrowded city like Berlin WOMBAT’s tags stood out from the rest and caught attention of photographers Wüstenei & Luft and Emmett Edelstein who started collecting the writer’s local traces. They regularly updated each other on news findings, even in spaces both passed hundred times before small curly tags were discovered with closer looks.

When in 2024 WOMBAT did visit Berlin again (and of course left new signs) the photographers’ little hide and seek game came to an end. In WOMBAT was here. they compiled findings of the long-lasting correspondence. The zine consist of beautiful examples of her unique styled spiralized signatures in hard to miss and easy to overlook spots. Only 150 copies of the publication were produced so don’t sleep on this one.
