TARIF – Das Game ist kein Spiel

TARIF is a German writer based in North Rhine-Westphalia who started in the early 2010s. Besides being active on trains and walls of his hometown he soon discovered freight trains as a playing field and made a name for himself on the European cargo scene in the last years as well.

In Das Game ist kein Spiel (the game is not just a game) for the first time ever he published a print publication of his work. Due to certain circumstances he was forced to switch to an analogue camera in the beginning of 2024 and instantly fell in love with the aesthetics of the outcomes. During the next months he kept the camera and captured tunnel and train line pieces, tags, freights, throw-ups, or common trains in the analogue way.

The refreshing designed softcover book focuses this time period until 2025 and also features action photos and atmospheric shots from Germany, Belgium and France on 124 pages. With an approximate half trains and half walls the publication gives a good insight into his activities over the past two years. Each of the limited to 100 copies books is hand numbered and signed by TARIF who also added a little introduction.
