WISH – Power of Love

WISH is a Frankfurt based trainwriter who was one of the key figures in the local scene from the 90s until the mid 2000s. Starting around 1995 without the common hip hop roots, but coming from a punk background, he made his first steps on rolling steel on his own. Since it took years for him to get really in touch with the Frankfurt scene he somehow managed to keep the naivety of his first pieces and developed it into a totally genuine style over the years.

Using names like WUT, SLAYER, XMAN, FEEL, FEVER, STORM, DOOM, or DETROIT besides his main alias, he seemingly avoided traditional stylistic influences and became a permanent fixture also on a nationwide scale. In magazines from his era WISH stood out from companions like KASPER, BOSS, KAOS, RISE, SPACE, MICRO, RUZD, and others who are also part of the book’s content

In Power of Love he compiles a full chronological overview on his writing career. Although Frankfurt trains are in spotlight, we can also follow him to Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Paris, Amsterdam, Stuttgart or Rome. In several texts WISH and fellow writers like RISE, REX, AGIT, OKUL, KENT or JAIL give retrospective insights into his work and the influence it has and still has to this day.

The 240-paged softcover Power of Love includes 400 photos and finally puts one of the most interesting German trainwriters from the late 90s and early 2000s in focus whose pieces were always memorable and true unique eye-catchers.
