FUZI WORLD

FUZI is a Paris originated graffiti writer who started out in the late 1980s and is member of the legendary U.V. and TPK crews. In the mid 90s he became known for the so called ‘ignorant style’, a stylistic approach directly referencing the early 70s origins of piecing in New York City.

“These works, created by children or young teenagers, blending clumsiness, naivety, innovation, and nonconformity, deeply moved me. After many years or learning, they became my ultimate reference.”

In 2008 FUZI started tattooing and transformed this style into this totally new sphere. Once again it took years until people understood his intentions and personal touch, coming from the outside without classic apprenticeship and without offering traditional styles for his customer’s skin.

In FUZI WORLD he opens with a foreword explaining his origins and how he managed to build up a symbiotic balance of his ‘ignorant style’ in graffiti writing and tattooing in the last two decades. The 544-paged open spine book is a compilation of almost 500 flash tattoo designs, separated into main and sub chapters, each one opening with a small introduction on the shown works, and finished by an alphabetical index. Some full colour pages in the middle also show important events from his career and atmospheric train photos.
