SHAVE WOW

SHAVE WOW is a publication which shows the quintessence of the Utrecht based writer’s blackbooks from the late 1980s to mid 1990s. As member of the WOW crew he did belong to the most active and influential writers in the Dutch scene. Although walls and trains of this era might be known from books and magazines, one rarely got insight into SHAVE’s personal portfolio.

The 48-paged softcover mimics the aesthetics of an original sketch book from back in the days with tags on a structured black surface. In the content you’ll find a mix of colored sketches, black and white drafts and photos of finished pieces. Two small texts by the Dutch Graffiti Library and the publisher are part of the content as well. Together with artist Henny Overbeek the team did also curate the selected shown works.

Lovely detail: The cover does not only show letter stickers as he used to have them on his books back then, but also original golden stickers have been attached to every single copy. SHAVE WOW is limited to 250 pieces only. We were able to get the last copies and as a special highlight signed by SHAVE himself and his crew mates DUCK and RHONE!
