Painted Graves – RELICS
26,00 €
Olivier Scuro a.k.a. OPAK is a notorious French trainwriter who made a name for himself throughout Europe starting in the early 90s. In the legendary Dirty Handz movies he, his crew mates from the SDK and WUFC and befriended writers manifested their outstanding panels and wholecars into the European history of graffiti. In 2001 he was forced to stop painting trains in France due to massive and effective police investigations against him and his friends.
During the Covid pandemic in 2020 OPAK started working on the first Painted Graves volume, followed by the work on the sequel in the same year. The RELICS book was exclusively part of the limited signed edition. Luckily for everyone who missed the box set the printing house had a batch of copies left from overproduction. This little gem, which is limited to 100 copies only, is now available separately.
“I sift through old archives, pairing images with fleeting recollections. But soon, it spills over. In the quiet theater of my mind, this is what didn’t make the final cut for ‘Painted Graves’.”
The 10,5 x 14 cm softcover consists not only of outtake photos, but tons of unpublished pieces accompanied with introducing texts with more information on the locations, their story, missing shots of joining writers back in the days and from the revisit missions to paint the discarded trains. The 156-paged softcover also features ALL, BYOFA, CHEF, CHILL, COKNEY, DIOS, DOING, DORK, FAME, FANCIE, GOAT, HONET, INOK, INUPIE, INXS, JUNKY, KAZE, KRASH, MANK, MEOT, OAME, PEPSIE, PIFER, POES, PUM, RENO, REMO, REW, RISK, RUZD, SEAR, SHEIK, SIME, SKEME, STAR, WEEDY, and ZEVO.
