DYAMONDZ – Barocke Medien

30,00

The Berlin based DIAMONDS crew is a collective of writers who made a name for themselves by traditional stylewriting careers. When the group formed in the late 2000s each member brought in ideas and practices that went far beyond usual writing. The group is best known for their often large collaborative wall, train and canvas productions.

Barocke Medien (baroque media) compiles works from the years 2022 to 2025, mainly paintings and drawings on old PVC-banner ads, truck tarpaulins or scaffolding covers. But the content also features several exhibition views as well as their recent outstanding project Ruine (ruin), an unfinished five story building that the DIAMONDS worked on from the inside and outside. Accompanying illustrated texts allow a deeper perception of the collective’s cosmos.

On 116 pages the exhibition catalogue-like publication gives insight into the group’s collective and process-oriented working methods by presenting selected close-ups as well as the complete view of the artworks. The publication is bound only with a elastic band. This can be removed, allowing the pages to be perceived in a completely different way. In this way, the artist collective’s practice of the visible and the hidden, as well as their play with perspectives, is transferred to the booklet—which thus becomes a playful object in itself.

We exclusively offer a Special Edition that comes with unique dust jackets cut out of an original tarpaulin work from the exhibtion DYAMOONDZ – White Book On The Moon in Halle. According to the group the chosen material of PVC tarps evoke associations with consumption, excess and traces of social decadence (Baroque) – surfaces that were once visible in public spaces become carriers for artistic exploration.
