Running the High Line III

Berlin’s subway lines U1 – U3 are operated by so called Kleinprofil (small profile) trains with slightly smaller and more slim wagons. In parts of Prenzlauer Berg and between Schöneberg and Friedrichshain these trains run on elevated tracks through the city and allow way more options to capture painted trains rolling. Berlin based trainspotter Peter Stelzig published the Running the High Line publication series to solely focus on traffic shots on these lines.

In Running the High Line III he gives an insight into activities of the year 2025 on the above mentioned Berlin subway lines. In chronological order he did put together a calender-like overview on panels from locals and tourists alike in an uncommon oversized staple bound softcover magazine on 92 pages. From January to December Stelzig was out to capture painted trains from often never before seen spots adding a unique skyline in many shots. The maximum photo size of 37,2 x 54,9 cm (!) on full spreads feels like skimming through a selection of screen prints or posters.
