New York Subway Graffiti
38,00 €
Tod Lange is a writer and photographer who documented graffiti on New York subway trains from first attempts to create pieces in the early 1970s to 80s high quality style burners and the later decay of writing on the city’s trains. In New York Subway Graffiti he compiled highlights from his archive capturing important figures from both decades.
“This book will take you on a journey through time, travelling from the early 1970s through the 1980s and into the 1990s […]. You will see graffiti from its conception to its utter demise. Although the books is only a blink of the eye in the history of graffiti, an enormous amount of work was produced on the subway system during these years.”
In more than 235 photographs the books shows portraits, collagues, but also amazing shots with the old New York cityscape in the background. Next to these never before published shots Tod Lange did invite contemporaries to share thoughts and memories in several small text parts, e.g. BLADE, STRIDER, NEO, SMITH, CAVS, WOLF, JOEY, Bill Myers, MONE, or HENCE.
