Mikrokosmos Berlin 004: LOFKER – // ∞ //

Mikrokosmos Berlin is a series of monographic publications whose first volume was released in 2020. The publisher chooses outstanding writers, cooperates and curates with them the content and puts it together into softcover booklets. The fourth volume by LOFKER is now available.

In the self-titled booklet the Berlin based tagging maniac presents an uncommon and eye-catching series. While having gained fame throughout the city with his massive street activities for more than one decade in the latest Mirkokosmos volume something like a side project has been put into spotlight.

The practice of leaving your name is the core of graffiti writing. Since the late 1960s no concept changed the simple idea of writing on the object in front of you, whether using a marker, spray can, correction pen, fire extinguisher or other tools. LOFKER mastered a new approach to this old game: Tagging behind his back.

When the upside-down swirly and spiral-like signs appeared first in 2020 one immediately got curios on the how of their execution. The more tags like this appeared the more clear it became: they must have been done blind, clandestine executed sitting and standing seemingly during daytime in subways, stations or on electric boxes. In LOFKER – // ∞ // one is finally invited to this practice and countless results, captured in mainly analogue photos by him and Wolf Daubin.

The fourth Mirkokosmos issue is once again limited to 100 pieces only. Each copy comes numbered and signed by LOFKER.
