GÄSTELISTE (guest list)

GÄSTELISTE (guest list) is a brand new limited publication focusing on various writers’ activities at one place in Berlin. For a few decades now the German capital is considered the world metropolis of graffiti. Trains getting painted on a daily basis and the streets are covered with tags and pieces, often multilayered. Finding a virgin wall where graffiti never has been put on seems impossible in certain parts of the city.

Writers like KLOPS or AGEND took on this challenge and explore the city on the hunt for fresh walls for several years now. Aspects like visibility to the broad public or an intended audience of other writers seemingly has no priority for them any longer when choosing these walls. The results are super hard to find pieces by a certain circle of the city’s top notch writers you stumble across in the most unusual places, far away from highly frequented spots where graffiti is expected to be.

The 72-paged softcover publication has one of these sites in focus. Within two years a well curated selection of writers from Berlin and abroad like KRIPOE, ROGER, PEPS, CREAM, THAKI68, CLINT176 or KATDOG followed the hosts’ invitation and left pieces on the raw concrete walls somewhere hidden inside the city. The lovely produced booklet includes a total of 63 works by 28 writers.

Only 150 copies of GÄSTELISTE have been printed – an elaborate three colour screen-printed cover frames the content. The hand numbered publication is exclusively available at Hitzerot.
