DELTA2 & DROPSY – Supreme chronicles of writing letters

37,00

When art galleries in New York and Europe started to acknowledge graffiti writing as an art form and started to put up exhibitions in the late 1970s and early 80s only a few artists with a graffiti background made it into the art world. To this day names like CRASH, DAZE, DELTA2, KOOL KOOR, LADY PINK, SONIC, BILL BLAST, QUIK or BLADE are mentioned when it comes to writers who really established themselves as artists over decades. In 2011 Luca Cinquetti found Arena Studio d’Arte – a gallery which in the recent years held exhibitions with these major artists in Verona, Italy.

More than 40 years after he participated in Italy’s Arte di Frontiera show New York’s DELTA2 returns to Italy for a duo exhibition with Milano local DROPSY. The Surpreme chronicles of writing letters show displayed solo works by both writers as well as collaborations which they did exclusively for the exhibit.

DELTA’s abstract works show styles, characters done on canvas, cardboard and subway maps and have mainly been executed in 2025 although older pieces are featured as well, of which some date back to 1981. DROPSY, speaking the same aesthetic language as the New York originator, also showed party abstract and letter based works starting in 1996 and even more classic sketches and photos from as early as 1991.

Making of photos from their cooperative artworks, vernissage shots and an essay by Fabiola Naldi round off the content of the hand numbered and limited to only 100 copies exhibition catalogue. Since these publications often become pricey and hard to find gems over time we recommend to get them now for the original price before they are sold out and get expensive collectibles.
