BILL BLAST – The wise man
37,00 €
When art galleries in New York and Europe started to acknowledge graffiti writing as an art form and started to put up exhibitions in the late 1970s and early 80s only a few artists with a graffiti background made it into the art world. To this day names like CRASH, DAZE, DELTA2, KOOL KOOR, LADY PINK, SONIC, BILL BLAST, QUIK or BLADE are mentioned when it comes to writers who really established themselves as artists over decades. In 2011 Luca Cinquetti found Arena Studio d’Arte – a gallery which in the recent years held exhibitions with these major artists in Verona, Italy.
BILL BLAST’s Sky’s the Limit and Eye of the Tiger as printed in the 1987 “Spraycan Art” book might be the works he is most famous for. But his full body of works goes beyond these iconic pieces. During his exhibition from May to September 2025 he put only recently executed artworks from 2024 on display.
His canvases combine letter styles (also featuring his WISE alias), his iconic signature tag and classic graffiti objects like the subway with space-like abstract landscapes and geometric forms. In the show he also presented city maps of Verona where the Arena Studio d’Arte is located. On top of that the 78-paged softcover publication includes an essay by Edoardo Falcioni and additional making of shots and vernissage impressions.
Each of the 100 limited edition copies is hand-numbered. Since these exhibition catalogues often become pricey and hard to find gems over time we recommend to get them now for the original price before they are sold out and get expensive collectibles.
Note: We ordered more copies and will get a small number of them in July 2026. You can order now and will get it when the publications arrives.
