RUBAE – THE BOOK

RUBAE is an Ukrainian writer based in Kyiv. In RUBAE – THE BOOK his conceptual freight series is in focus. Maybe inspired by DELTA’s Falns series in between 2018 and 2022 he focused on painting one specific freight train model by the Kovalska company in the area of his hometown.

The content consists of over 130 selected pieces from this series. Each photo includes the year and spot of production. Next to smaller stories in the content RUBAE did write an introductory essay on the series and the idea behind it. Besides traditional style pieces most of the works were executed with references well known logos from big international companies.

The 192-paged hardcover is his first book and limited to 500 copies. It comes in English and Ukrainian language and in a large scale format. Somehow he even managed to have the Kovalska company support the realization of the publication although the pieces have been done without permission. We were able to get our hands on the very last copies and have them signed as well.
