RIME – DIRECTION DIARY VOL. 1
45,00 €
RIME, also known as Jersey Joe, is Brooklyn originated writer and artist who currently lives in Los Angeles. He started writing graffiti in 1991 and soon developed an unique and eye-catching style. His works were exhibited for the first time in 2003 and two years later he moved to LA and became member of the legendary Mad Society Kings (MSK) crew. Today RIME might be one of the most famous writers in the United States.
In the first volume of his DIRECTION DIARY series he takes us on a journey straight into the process of creating. The softcover does not include photos of finished pieces or similar. Solely executed with a pen the content consists of tags, outliners, slogans, throw-ups, sketches for characters and more elaborate blueprints for pieces which were done at several trips across the country.
The conceptual 164-paged softcover puts the spotlight on his paperworks and in doing so this focus lifts the status of these works to another level. Each one is way more than only a scribble done and later put on a wall or canvas – they are works of their own kind. His flow, the cartoon influences and the development within series of an idea really brings you closer to the resourceful mind of RIME. The books opens with a foreword by RIME and is limited to 500 copies.
Please note that getting publications from overseas is an often complicated and expensive process. Since we are not able to get US titles regularly we recommend to order them as quick as possible. It might be the last chance to get these publications in our shop.
